National Awards for Excellence

Announcing the winners of the country's best rasher at the
launch of the 2011 Australian Bacon Week March 7 - 13.
This year, 97 bacons from 72 manufacturers were registered as
part of the national Awards for Excellence, which were then judged
on a variety of factors including appearance, aroma, texture,
shrinkage and of course taste.
The judges comprised of fleishmeister Horst Schurger and two
chefs Paul McDonald and Simon Bestley.
