Pork Belly Popcorn

Serves 4 people



  • 750g pork belly, skin removed and cut into 2-3cm squares
  • ½ cup cornflour
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt flakes
  • ½ teaspoon finely ground white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon finely ground black pepper
  • vegetable oil, for deep frying
  • lemon wedges and chilli sauce, to serve

    Combine cornflour, paprika, cumin, coriander, sea salt, white pepper and black pepper in a bowl. Add pork belly to spice mixture and toss until lightly coated.

    Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Deep-fry pork in batches for 4-5 minutes or until golden and crisp. Transfer to a tray lined with paper towel and keep warm. Repeat with remaining pork.

    Serve pork with lemon wedges and chilli sauce.
